Welcome 🙂

Gigabyte GA-7PESH3
Not cheap, but you get what you pay for
Solid, mature, quality board, no quirks
NO Marvel chipset
Intel SATA 2-6Gb/s and 4-3Gb/s RAID 0-1 available
RAID key header on board (adds RAID 5 to above)
LSI SAS/SATA 8-6Gb/s RAID 0-50 available
DUAL Intel gigabit LAN
Accepts ECC or non-ECC memory, low or high voltage
Ability to push memory to 1866 reliably
Does only work with real E5's, no ES's
Onboard Aspeed VGA 1920x1200 @ 60Hz max
Onboard Realtek HDaudio 7.1
4 REAL PCIE 3.0 x16 slots or 7 REAL x8s (and combos in-between)
8 USB3 ports (Etron-never a problem here) and 6 USB2 available (Intel)
TPM header onboard
4 SYS fan headers onboard (+2 CPU fans of course)
Onboard BMC
Takes the longest graphics cards in 6 of 7 slots
Does quad CrossfireX or SLI (connectors included for all)
Doesn't have the compatibility problems or quirks of the Asus, EVGA or SM boards

And yes, I have had 2 of them since 8/13

For a workstation, I don't believe you will find a better E5 series board.
And as a bonus, if you ever have any problems, you deal with the B2B (business) division of Gigabyte, not the regular consumer division.
I can tell you from experience, they are out to please the customer, and they cross-ship and do ARMA.
I've always had some issue or other when dealing with the "business" ends of SM or Asus, but never with Gigabyte B2B.

Dear Micrornd,
