if i were you i'd go with the z97-a from asus

almost all the same features as the pro but cheaper.\

The Z97-a only has 4 sata 3 ports. The SSD, HDD, and ODD are already 3. Is there a way I can add more? Also, does it support SLI/Crossfire?

How is the MSI board? The rebate may be gone when I buy it (the Extreme4), so the MSI is the cheapest.

The Z97-a only has 4 sata 3 ports. The SSD, HDD, and ODD are already 3. Is there a way I can add more? Also, does it support SLI/Crossfire?

the z97-a has 6 sata 6gbp's ports the sata express can be used as 2 6gbps ports.

and yes it supports both crossfire and sli.

thats a limitation of all z97 boards.

without a plx chip that's all they get.

That's the one I got. Cheapest Z97 board with an Ultra M.2 slot. It also includes dual NICS and 10 SATA ports, both of which aren't on the comparable $155 boards from Asus, Gigabye, and MSI.

Edited to add: If you care about SLI then the Extreme6 having the Ultra slot may not matter much as it can't be used with SLI.
