Which motherboard should I get?

I just bought a Core 2 Duo E6420 CPU and 2 GB OCZ PC2-6400 RAM dual channel today. I'm probably going with a Nvidia graphics card in 2 weeks and will need a motherboard as well.

Anybody have any suggestions on which mobo I should get? Which brand and model? I'm checking now and would like sata II as well. I will be getting a Raptor 150 GB drive for my OS some time within the next month.

Agree with Blain. This board is well designed, and uses solid state capacitors as opposed to electrolytic for better long term reliability. It is very attractive and good value, and even more so now that Gigabyte and Asus have merged.

GB

If only it had a bonafide eSATA port. 🙂

Possibly looking at either

BFG 8800 GTS OC2 320 MB

Asus GF 8800 GTS 320 MB

MSI Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB

Gigabyte GF 8800 GTS 320 MB

Sparkle GF 8800 GTS 320 MB

PNY GF 8800 GTS 320 MB

get the cheapest evga 8800 gts 320mb, overclock it yourself so you dont have to pay for factory overclocked cards, and in under 90 days exchange it for a better card, you will only pay the difference between the two.

what monitor will u be using?
what resolution would u play games at?

u need to let us know before u choose your video card

the 320mb will prob be good till 1280x1024, 1650x1050 will be pushing it... you'll need to turn your eye candy way down since nvidia cards play better without aa/af

I definitely agree with this. Gigabyte makes a solid board with solid capacitors and they have awesome customer service. I don't think you could go wrong with this board. 🙂
