I use an Asus MAXIMUS VI HERO motherboard . Just installed a fresh Windows 10 (latest, November 2019 upgrade) , It seems to recognize the chipset there are no unrecognized devices in Windows device manager.
On Asus support site of the motherboard , there are Chipset drivers from 2016 ( MEI: V11.0.5.1189 ) also there is a driver for SATA ( IRST_V14.5.0.1081_WHQL ) . Should I install these? Dont want to mess the system by installing worse, older drivers .
Also there is driver for sound chip . It caused the system to hangup after the install. It seems to work fine , but these are from 2016. Is there a way to find newer drivers ?

Can you grab any chipset drivers directly from the Intel site? That's what I'd do if Windows doesn't automatically download them...

I've a few Z87 boards and all of the Win10 drivers work fine, for what it's worth.

Personally, I just leave the drivers Windows 10 installs by default, unless something doesn't work as it should. The performance difference is very neglible. Sometimes, generic/old driver is better than a new one, but it varies from one case to another (e.g. video, sound, sd/expansion cards).

Study this thread.

More often than not, it doesn't work properly with older chipsets and W10. I'd just let Windows handle the Intel chipset/sata drivers. The simpler, the better. Complex can often be just more expensive...

Microsoft has placed a compatibility hold on Windows 10 devices that prevents them from upgrading to Windows 10 1903 if they are using older Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers. This is because certain versions of the software could cause Windows 10 to crash or not operate properly in version 1903.

If a Windows 10 user has Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) driver versions between 15.1.0.1002 and 15.5.2.1053 installed, Windows 10 will not upgrade to version 1903.

As the others above have stated, I also generally leave the drivers Windows installs as is; graphics drivers are the only thing I regularly update.

If you'd rest easier with more updated drivers then I'd suggest staying away from your motherboard support page and go directly to Intel's driver web page.
