I am wondering what the better combo deal is between these two:

BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX 128M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX
x3 720
= $219 after MIR

or

ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX
x3 720
= $210 after MIR

which mobo is better? I have seen several recent posts about biostar mobo's having issues, but have also heard it is a great board. Any input is appreciated.

I don't knwo from personal use, but I woudl say go with the company with better customer service. They both seem pretty similiar.

The Biostar is a great board and is generally the one quite a few people round here use- I'd go with the Biostar.

From my experience with recent Asus motherboard, I'd say go with the Asus. And my primary reason is the BIOS based flash utility. Because although you may not want to flash the BIOS, it's very likely you will need to anyway. And the method used by Asus extremely easy and relatively safe (not sure if flashing the BIOS is ever going to be 100% "safe"!).

Considering the Asus is AM3 with ddr3 and is cheaper, it looks like the better overall option since it might be more flexible for future upgrades.
