I am building a left overs computer. For the motherboard I have the choice of a MSA 694T Pro with 1 gig PIII or an ASUS A7A-266E with a 1 gig Duron. Both boards have on board audio and will be loaded with 256 meg PC-133 memory. I only have one case to work with or I would be building two computers.

The computer will be used for scanning and burning document image collections in pdf format to CD-R. The operating system will be Windows XP home.

Which motherboard shopuld I go with?

Thas a hard one. If the P3 is a 133Mhz FSB chip then I say go for that, if it is the 100Mhz FSB I would then lean toward the Duron.

Then it should be a little faster. But if you overclocked the Duron(its VERY easy) then maybe. But for a simple setup I go P3. Or better yet sell the P3 (they still go for a good amount) and use the duron.

Or just go out and spend the $30 on a case and have 2 systems.

I agree.... cases are cheap if you have the parts for 2 computers. That's the way I would go.

( I lean towards the AMD myself, but either are good....)
