Which monster power supply?

Thermaltake? Pfft!

Is that on the AT approved list? (OCZ, Antec, PCP&C, Zippy/Emacs, Enermax--also, but less notably, Seasonic, Fortron/Sparkle (not the low-end lines), Silverstone, Zalman.)

Enermax makes the list; Thermaltake doesn't.

NOTE: This post is somewhat tounge-in-cheek, as there's no need for a 600 watt PSU unless you're running quad God damn everything.

Seriously--if you have to spend $100 or more on a PSU, try an OCZ Powerstream 420W (has plenty of 12V amperage--30A I think). I think I saw this for around $100 at Newegg a few weeks ago. No real need for anything more, IMO.

I would get this one for that money

12v1 26, 12v2 20

That's definately a better supply, but if noise is a factor it might not be the best choice.

Either way I would definately take Enermax over Thermaltake. I have the 485W version of that Enermax power supply, and it's super quiet and seems good.

i would go ocz powerstream, i just got mine today and let me tell you my voltage problems are all gone. probably the best powert supply imo

i went with the 450 modstream cuz the cable management options looked great. do you think the 4 amps on the 12v less than the powerstream will make much of a difference?

modstream

The bigger the power supply the bigger the minimum you have to run. Watch out on powersave mode. I don't know if it will cause a problem.

Yeah, actually--if you have a big PSU and a small load on it, it'll actually be less efficient.
