Which monitor?? Samsung 955DF, 900IFT, or 950P??

OK I have narrowed down my monitor purchase to these three models.

The 955DF and 950P can be had for sub 250, but the 900IFT is at ~370.

The 950P and 900IFT specs are great and very similar.

The 955DF has lower specs, but both the 955DF and 900IFT are flat screen monitors, while the 950P is not.

I want a flat screen monitor, but is it worth the lower specs? I won't be running over 1280x1024 so I don't think that the specs really matter that much. Or does it not matter whether it's a flat screen or curved? Or should I just spend a little more and get the best of both worlds?

I would greatly appreciate your opinions and any comments if you have had any experiences with any of these monitors and your recommendations.

I really don't want to spend a whole lot, I'm looking for a "shortert" depth monitor if possible without sacrificing performance.

The 950P is a little bit deeper then the other two just to note.

Mule, FWIW I've been running a 900IFT since last December, and below are my experiences and observations.

I originally bought the 900SL 19" short-neck monitor. That particular unit had some problems (a hot spot on the screen, in particular), so I returned it to Best Buy. Between the time I bought the SL and returned it, BB got in some of the 900IFT's. One look at that and I decided it was a no-brainer to ante up the difference and get an IFT.

The IFT I got had the same hot spot phenomenon, as well as a pronounced sag to the on-screen image. I called Samsung and they suggested I return the unit. BB was very good about this, and even called around to other stores to find an IFT in stock. I'm happy to say that the replacement unit has been flawless.

It takes a very short amount of time to get used to the flat screen. At first it appears to be concave. But, in no time you'll find other monitors look like fish bowls. The controls on the IFT are easy to use, and complete in their capabilities. I especially like the clean look of the front, w/ the slide out control panel.

If I had to get a new monitor right now, I'd give serious consideration to another 900IFT. Currently I'm driving it w/ a Hercules Prophet II MX card, and I like the look.

Been using the 955DF for a while - real excellent monitor at 1024x768 desktop (16bit). Nice and clean BUT BIG. Good value too.

well the 900 ift blows the other 2 away

i'd got

1.900ift
2.950p (i saw this in action, its a pretty good monitor, my friend "hawk" just got one
3. 955df (it can only do 66hz at 1600x1200)

Well... the reason I'd be cautious about the 900IFT is that I heard many people having bad experience with it. Spec-wise it does blow the other two away, but I heard the DFs are much better in quality than the IFTs, if he does not plan to use 1600x1200, I'd see the DF as a very viable option.
