Here is the sitch. I bid on a board a few weeks ago, the ASUS K7M-RM. I waited for it to get here and waited some more, then when it was finally shipped, it is a different motherboard. They said that they were out of stock on the one I bid on and were replacing with an "upgraded one" y.s.r. anyways, it is a SOYO SY-K7VIA. Yes, I know it is an older board and yes I know it is slot a as opposed to the newer sockets. I am poor, I am getting what I can afford. From the reviews I have read, the ASUS is highly regarded board wise but not so great as far as the bios (AMD 751). It cannot handle as much memory as the SOYO(bios is kx133) but it can handle a up to 1Ghz+ t-bird, while the SOYO can only handle up to something like an 850Mhz t-bird. The SOYO is supposedly very stable and the ASUS is supposedly awesome for overclocking. I want to start tinkering around with OC'ing (newbie in that area). Both boards have the amount of pci/agp I want. Part of me wants to say screw it and go with the one they gave me, not to waste time with haggling over replacements (whatever else they will have in stock, most likely, shipping back the SOYO and waiting for the new one to get shipped. THe other part, says get the best you can out of them. So there it is, any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
