Which mobo to get?

The second one you list has a northbridge fan: that would eliminate it for me. Much better cooling solutions out there now, and it's a source of noise, and a possible failure point.

I notice the price on the T1 motherboard plus that CPU is less at Newegg, and, you get a $20 rebate on the mobo:

$200 minus $20 rebate for T1 version of 680SLI

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115028

$280 for the CPU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115028

$480 minus $20 equals $460
versus Tdirect's $510 minus $20 = $490.

There may be some folks here who might have an opinion on the Q6600 quad core at $280

and possibly changing some settings to take it to about 3.0 ghz--

680 SLI specific steps:

There have been some dual core v. qaud 6600 discussions, and generally the consensus is that the quad core is the better buy--especially as software catches up with it.
