which mobo should I take for 1 ghz AXIA Athlon

I'm buying a 1 ghz AXIA chip and a new mobo but I just can't deceide between the abit kt7a
and the asus a7v133, advice ?

ps: I am a heavy overclocker (hence the axia)

The Iwill KK266 will suit heavy overclockers the best, simply because, it is the best KT133A available.

If your buying a new mobo how come your not going DDR? You should get the EPOX 8K7A It is great fot the overclocker... It makes no sence to buy a 133 board.. Just my 2 cents😀

Iwill KK266 is the best AMD SDR solution on the market for overclocking
Epox 8K7A is the best bang for the buck for DDR AMD solution for overclocking, price etc.

Agreed.

No reason to throw away some perfectly fine SDRAM and shell out an unnecessary $80 some bucks IMO.

But he already has a Abit KT7 that appears to be working, why burn another $120 on a new motherboard using old technology? Plus he will have to shell it out for DDR next upgrade most likely anyway...

LXI Crucial DDR ram is less then $40 bucks for 256megs and it does make sence to not use the pc133 ram if the DDR ram is so cheap and your buying a new mobo.

Sorry $80 some was for 512MB, 'cause that's least I'd buy from Crucial. Faster DDR standards are coming out seemingly everyday so it's pointless buying now and hope to reuse them later. And I maintain my position, keep the SDRAM, it doesn't make sense to me to spend unnecessary money.

On same topic, i have two 256mb sticks of normal pc133 sdram and i want to get a new o/c board as well. I want to keep the ram but would like the option to move to DDR in the future, mobos with both sockets and o/c potential?

Well there are mobos out there that can use SDRAM and DDR (not at the same time) but I can't say I know how well they OC.

I thing I'll go with ASUS just because the ram is new (only 4 weeks) and I got a really good price for my old mobo + proc (I only have to pay 45 $ if I switch)
Another thing is I live in belgium and prices are higher, just to give an example : I paid 105 $ for the pc150 Sdram

So almost all of us say Iwill and you choose the Asus...why'd you ask the question? I won't waste my time replying to your threads anymore.

I got a reason for that, the online store i'm always using (read: cheapest)doesn't sell the Iwill mobo but if you think that the motherboard I should defenitely buy I'll search some further.
No need to get mad !
