I am buying a new rig for casual gaming and video encoding.
What should I opt for-
MSI P35 Platinum+MSI R4850
OR
MSI P7N SLI Platinum+ XFX 8800GT
OR
Gigabyte X38 DS5+ XFX 8400GS & later replace the gpu wth a hd4850?

Of those three choices I would pick the X38 board with the ATI GPU, but unless you plan on hard-core crossfire you might be better served with a newer chipset. Maybe a P45 (and even that would be fine with 4850's).

What CPU are you running?

Thanx 4 the suggestions guys,I bought my rig yesterday.I got myself the MSI P45 Platinum, E8400, Kingston 2gb DDR2 800 ValueRAM, Cooler Master Elite 330 case, Corsair VX450 psu.As for the gpu,the MSI R4850 is out of stock right now,so they gave me a 8400gs,and promised to replace it with the R4850 by 28th.I wont have to pay for the 8400gs.
