I dont knw what mb should go with this. I am on a tight budget and and need a compatable motherboard. The card is pci-e. I had a 7800gt with a ati chipset board and it gave me a lot of problems. Do i need to buy a ati board for this to be compatable with it. Also its for a amd 64 3200+ and 4 sticks of 512mb ram. Preferable..no msi. Too many problems with that company.

Seeing that you're going to put four DIMMs into your board, you're talking about Socket 939... There is no need to buy a special "built by ATI" board for that X850 to run... Any mobo on the nForce4 should do fine...

If you like to keep it cheap, this ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 is absolutely great... It features a chipset that is as performant as any nForce4 out there, it overclocks really well, you can buy an upgrade card for it (so you can fit a Socket AM2 CPU in there!)... Feature-wise it's not as complete, missing FireWire and Gigabit LAN e.g., but if you decide those don't mean a lot to you, then it's one I can wholeheartedly recommend...

When wanting a board that has better OCing capability and more features, this EPoX EP-9NPA+ Ultra perfectly fits the bill at an acceptable price (in comparison to other nF4 mobos)...
