I haven't built a new system for over 5 years. I am debating between these 2 boards as well. Currently, my system is overclocked a bit(don't ask me what it is...it is old). I forgot how to overclock to be honest. The new system will be used gaming, video editing, picture editing, web surfing and stuff. So, I want to get it up and running with the most optimal setting(auto) at first since I need a new system up and running soon. Then, I will get into overclocking. Do you think the DFI is difficult to get it up and running stable without overclocking from start? Or do I need a lot of tweaking? I heard MSI is easy to get it up and running. Any expert advice is need.

any rig should be started at stock. dfi is no different. i had no problem at all. just be sure you have the proper components to go with it- a decent 24 pin native psu (dfi "requires" a 480w) and some decent ram.

if you browse through dfi.street, in particular the stickied threads entitled "critical info" and "non-critical info" and follow the advice, you should have no problem.

people get intimidated by the dfi but really, its all what you make of it. it has a ton of options and tweaks but that doesn't mean you have to use them all. my first oc on it was a winny 3200+ i ran at 240x10 with 2.5-4-3-7 1t 1:1 timings, every other option was on "auto". except the volts.

if you do a little research anyone can run this board.

edit-if you have an idea of the components you want to use, i'd suggest posting at dfi.street and ask for advice. the mods there are dfi support guys. maybe a little rough around the edges sometimes but they know their stuff.

i can't tell what the psu is on the first one but it looks like the sonata would fit the bill. it has the native 24pin and nice rails.

that looks like your psu so that should be fine. i prefer getting a seperate psu and case but that price is pretty nice. that has the front intake, 120mm? thats important on the dfi as the chipset is down there and its nice to have the front intake blowing over it.
