which mobo/cpu to get??

I am going to upgrade my computer for christmas and need to know which mobo/cpu combo to get for about $250 or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
At around XMas, I will assume that the MSI K7T Pro2 will be more available, so I would have to say go with that and a TBird 800. Those will both probably get cheaper, and you can spend the balance on a goof HSF.

However, if you don't plan to overclock, you can also get the MSI K7T Pro. Another good board from MSI.
 
You didn't specify your applications so, as a general recommendation, I'd go for a KT7 mobo and an 800MHz Duron. You'll have bucks left over for a good heat/sink fan, etc.

How about if the programs using would be cubase, gigastudio, music programs, etc...
With a event gina sound card and a sblive.

what would you recommend 🙂 ?
