If i am to build my computer using CPU: AMD XP 2100+, what mobo is best? And what hard drive is good now? I am looking for a 120 gb hard drive. I heard in this forum but don't remember exactly where, that Geforce 4 cards is not compatible with this setup, is this true?

Get the 8MB Cache drives from Western Digital.. the 1200JB, 1000JB, or the 800JB (120GB, 100GB, or 80GB). They are the fastest available IDE drives.

<< What are good and cheap RAM to go witht that setup? >>

You are interested in a 120GB hard drive, and a GeForce 4 card and you are looking for "cheap" RAM???????

You get what you pay for in most cases.

Sorry for the confusion I cause, I am willing to pay for whatever the cost for the hard drive and the GF 4. But there are two types of DDR ram out there right? isn't it PC 2100 and the PC 2700 ? Which one is compatible with the mobo and the Xp 2100+ the most? What mobo is good for the xp 2100+?

P.S.

What does that mean pillage2001?

<< Define cheap RAM. Are you overclocking??? >>

"cheap" meaning not so expensive to a point that it's not worth it.

Hopes this clears it up.

Don't bother with PC2700, the Athlon does not benefit from it at all. The Mobo? I'd say EPoX 8K3A(+), Asus A7V333, or Gigabyte 7VRXP depending on what onboard goodies you want. For the HD, definately the WD 1200JB. Fastest IDE drive.
