Samsung - 1.7 cu ft $199 shipped

GE - 1.8 cu ft $359

The part that throws me is that Bestbuy wants $120 to install, while Home Depot only wants $49. I could possibly install it myself (i am much more handy than i used to be), but i would prefer this to be done right and home depot's $49 seems reasonable to save me the trouble and the time...

Hmmm, any recs?

HOLY CRAP!!! The samsung has an instant $100 off right now, its $166 including tax. Screw that, my decision is made 😀

think i can install it myself ok?

Whatta Rip!!! Why does BB always show 'Available for pickup at most stores' yet none of them ever have them in stock.. Hell, i just tried 10 zip codes all over the country, none of them have it... $42 shipping

$270 for something like that? I paid less than $100 CDN for a 1kW Sharp microwave oven a few years ago and it still works today.

No, not an OTR, but the one with the dial doesn't look like one, either.

You should be able to install it, but you may need help. If it's an old model you're replacing, you might want to have them install it.

Why do you need an OTR oven, anyway?

small kitchen, old regular microwave, decent hood costs $160 anyway 🙂

I've installed a couple of these. Here's the deal...do you already have duct work in place? If you do, sweet....if not, the install may take a little longer.

Otherwise, the box will have a sheet of paper in it that you use as a template. Hold it up to the wall and mark the holes from the paper to the wall....grab the mounting bracket (plate) and screw it into some studs on the wall....there should be a couple of hooks coming out of the plate. The microwave just slides onto the hooks and you line 2 screws up with the holes in your kitchen cabinets.....then tighten it down. That's about all there is to it. Just make sure your fan vent is in the right position when you put it in place....

ended up buying the Samsung... Even with shipping $200 delivered w/ tax is still a hell of a lot nicer on the wallet than $359 + tax + $55 delivery (and waiting 3 months for the delivery rebate) from HD.
