Question Which Micosoft account??

Muse

Lifer
Somehow when I established a Microsoft Account I was given an email address associated with a domain I'd never heard of before, being @live.com. Later, I evidently created an MS account using my personal email account. Thus I have 2 MS accounts: <my_username>@live.com and <my_username>@<myisp.com>.

I just started using a new rig preinstalled with Windows 10 64bit. It has an adminstrator account and figure I should create another account under my own name, like I have on my two other Windows 10 machines. Both those accounts are Administrator status. However, each of those two machines is using a different MS account. I never check my email in the @live.com account. I don't remember getting emails in the other but maybe I have. I have a couple of Windows 10 tablets and I think they too have different accounts. I called MS support more than once trying to clear up the confusion. Didn't get too far. One guy said he linked the accounts so email would go to me, but to me it would seem preferable to have just one account.

Well, right now on my new rig there's just the admin account and figure I want to create another account for me, administrator status. Is that a good idea and which MS account should I use?

I am not sure I understand your question. Your new rig has only a local account and you want to know if you should login with a MS account? Up to you really. I like to login with my MS account, I use onedrive a lot, so it is very convenient to me to just login to all my systems with the same account. You don't need to do that, you can login to MS services after logging in with a local acount, I can understand why people prefer would prefer that.

You can add up to 10 aliases to your main account if you want, for example if you want to create a different email address for each machine.
