Which Memory?

ok basically its down to 2 different modules, corsair xms pc3200xlpt and the pc3200 crucial ballistix. They are both 130, newegg and the crucial web site. I see that the timings ont he ballistix are 2-3-2-5 and corsair are 2-2-2-5. I plan to do some overclocking later on down the road, but for now just stock speeds. I want something that will overclock pretty good. I prolly wont overclock to limits. For the price which one is better for present and future?

also, corsair has an XL and an LL of the xms3200..whats the difference?

The difference between the corsair models is that xl has lower (therefore better) latencies. LL was 2-3-2-6 while XL is 2-2-2-5. Might as well get the corsair if it's the same price as the crucial. Peace.

Given the choice between Crucial and Corsair I'd pick Crucial every time.

The Crucial will run 2-2-2 also. It will run lower latencies to higher speeds. Likely the Corsair is Samsung TCCD, which will probably reach higher overall speed. So choose the Crucial if your goals are low latencies and choose the Corsair if you are looking for insanely high RAM speeds (Crucial will top out in the 260-275 range, while Samsung TCCD will typically top out in the 275-300 range)

If you're going to get TCCD RAM, get the PQI or OCZ as they have shown to be slightly better at reaching max speeds based on this article:

Basically it's Crucial vs. TCCD as all the sticks other than Crucial are TCCD in that article. You can see there's not too much difference in benchmarks between them, so you're pretty set either way you go.

both are damn good ram, i would get the crucial but you really cant lose with either
