Which memory should I use for OC my system, Mushkin or Corsair?

Hi,

I just got Mushkin PC2100 Hi Perf Level 2 CAS 2-2-2, but I see on here that people use Corsair PC3200 for overclocking.

Which one is better actually for overclocking? I though Mushkin was great that's why I bought them but looking from what people use on here, I am a little bit hesitant to use my Mushkin.

I can still return them back and get the Corsair but the price went up already for Corsair now.

Can someone tell me if I could get the same performance with Mushkin PC2100 Hi Perf Level 2?

Thanks

Corsair XMS 3200 is the best DDR out there right now (it uses Samsung chips usually).. stay away from OCZ and the like.

Mushkin is alright but it isn't guaranteed to overclock as high as the Corsair XMS 3200 (the module you stated at least).

Actually Mushkin offers
PC3200 and it should be as good as Corsair.

John, I saw that one before getting the hi perf one. according to mushkin website, the hi perf one should be better than the PC 3200 one. that's why I am confused as if I should keep the one that I already bought (Hi Perf level 2) or sell this one and get Corsair PC 3200

thanks

The "High Performance" is PC2100 (133MHz), not PC3200 (200MHz). I see no mention of their PC2100 being "better" than their PC3200 offerings.

It was my understanding he was comparing the Mushkin 2100 2-2-2 which he _has already_ to the Corsair XMS 3200 (<<Hi, I just got Mushkin PC2100 Hi Perf Level 2 CAS 2-2-2, but I see on here that people use Corsair PC3200 for overclocking..>>)

If you compare the Mushkin 3200 vs. the Corsair, I'm sure they're indeed very similar...

Tom, you were correct about sting comparing his PC2100 to the 3200. ;) I was only suggesting, in a not so obvious way, that he return the PC2100 he just bought and upgrade to the Mushkin PC3200. ;)

The XMS 3200 v2.1 has Winbond rev. B 6ns chips, which are supposed to be faster than Samsung. From what I gather, Corsair will be using the Winbond chips on their XMS 3200 CAS2.

now I've got to sell this one and get the Corsair.

John, sorry, I didn't remember where I read that hi perf is better than PC 3200 but I think I read someone posted this info on this board. just don't remember.

sorry for the misinfo...

thanks
