I was going to run with the Crucial but what do you think to these other alternatives?

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8500 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR10662GK) 5-5-5-15

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA1065) 5-5-5-15

Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x1GB) 5-5-5-15

I've got a pair of Ballistix just like the ones you have picked out in my Deluxe, only at 1000MHz instead of 1066. They're great, no complaints at all.......go Crucial.

Edited: Becuzz i Tipe gud.

go for price here. The cheapest kit out of the available options is my pick as they're all probably about equal.

Thanks for your thoughts. I already have 2 GB Ballistix DDR2-800 / PC2-6400 but for some reason they will not run at PC6400 speeds on this new motherboard. They ran fine and at the specified speed on my P5WD2 Premium board, but for some reason, my system crashes when it's doing some intensive rendering or transcoding work. Running them at a lower speed works fine but for me I want the best I can get. I wonder if a BIOS update is needed?

Cheers all. ;)

make sure you're giving the right voltage and timings. Also make sure you aren't running 1T command rate just to be sure it's not the settings.

look at the mushkin xp2-8500.... a little voltage heavy... but guaranteed d9gmh and usually reasonably priced.

There is no way that a P5W should clock memory better than a P5K. After verifying your memory settings, you may want to run Memtest and make sure you don't have a failing DIMM. Since your board is ASUS, make sure you disable Legacy USB Support before running Memtest.

Is there a problem running memory @ 1T on the P35 chipset?

What kind of performance is lost when running at 2T?

BIOS Should be : 0501 If not Update Here : P5K BIOS

That should do it... the next BIOS will be another month or so....
