Which memory configuration will give me the best performance in BF2?

I have 2*256mb PC3200/DDR400 memory installed in my system. Of course it is not always a pleasure to play Battlefield 2 with only 512mb.

However I also have 2*256mb PC2100/DDR266 but not installed in my system.

Now I wonder which memory configuration will give me the best performance in BF2. Should I keep my 512mb PC3200/DDR400 configuration or add the extra 512mb and get a total of 1024mb RAM running at the slowest memories' speed?

I know that the best thing would be to buy DDR400 memory modules instead but that is not an option at the moment.

The more ram the better with BF2. I went from 1gb to 2gb and saw a good increase. With only 1gb don't turn the texture setting on high.

I'd say 1GB at slower memory speeds unless you can't run your RAM and FSB asynchronously and it has a major impact on your overall CPU clockspeed.

I agree, the more mem the better. The speed dif is not really a factor as much as the amount of ram is.
