So doesn't that mean something?

Like, "hey, usually when someone posts as much as you do, we give them a special name or make them elite or something, but not in your case. You haven't really said anything in your 35,000+ posts that would merit any sort of distinction. But don't stop trying! Maybe by the time you get to 100,000 you'll have come up with something worthwhile!"

Or maybe not.

Just a thought.

Post count has nothing to do with post quality or contribution to the community.

Nor quality of posts.

I would say Harvey had the least amount of posts when he was given Elite. Of course he was old school from back in '96-'97 so that is why he got it with so few posts :) He had already made a huge contribution to Anandtech.

Elite has nothing to do with quantity of posts.

In fact many of us have had it for the vast, vast majority of our posts - I got mine at ~1500 posts, long before the Golden/Platinum/Diamond/Lifer titles ever existed.

It's all a judgement call by the Mods.

Basically a combination of the following, but not necessarily depending on all:

Tenure
Quality of posts
Quality of trading
Knowledge
.
.
.
I'm sure there're more.

I think it would be neat if the Mods gave people random titles. Seriously. It's all in good fun. It IS an internet BB afterall. :)

The true & original members rejected the move to have registration & title, because it was & is still a disruptive feature. Most has left or try to remain some what anonymous, and the policing have done some good with the new features, and it also have driven away many great contributors.

I got mine on 7/16/2001 along with Rand.

Forgot what my post count at the time was ... guessing around 5,000 - 7,500 posts

Too bad this is true, cause some members are really helpful through PMs like Fautso1 on his insight on biking knoweledge and yes even Tyler/notFred with his knoweledge on coding, photoshop, etc.

Well, I think I'm certainly elite material...but I'm still sorta drunk from last night, so what do I know?

If that doesn't happen, I got dibs on "certified asshat"
