Which mem slots are better to use?

OK, Last time I built a system, I was using a DFI motherboard, and it was recommended to use a certain pair of memory slots instead of the other 2 for best overclocks. Is this the case with say, the Asus p5k- Deluxe (my new motherboard)? Like channel A or channel B?

Yah my older Lanparty 939 board had that too. I read so many forums in regards to that and sure enough two of the slots were better for oc'ing. This was the case back then. I wish I could say for sure whether it is still on most boards. Currently on my eVGA 680i I have yet to notice any difference with either of its 4 slots. In fact I have 4 x 1024 of Ballistix PC26400 RAM and it still oc's just as well as it did with only two sticks, just that I cannot use 1T. Anyhow that is my board but I am not entirely sure of your P5K. One thing I have read much about the P35 chipset is that it does well with 4 sticks of ram leading me to believe that it really has no issues for now.

One way is to simply test yourself and switch the slots and see which gets a better OC or better stability.

Cheers. Well, I read somewhere else (forgot where) that the black slots are optimized for higher speed/ lower latency (how is that possible?), so I am sticking with them. So, 2x 2Gb in black slots, lets see how far it goes..
