Which media types are compatible with HD-BURN?

TY works of course, but which other media is compatible with HD-BURN? I've tried Sony 48x media (Sony media ID), Lead Data 32x/48x/52x, CMC 48x, Verbatim 12x (blue), Prodisc 48x and none of those types work. TY can't be the only compatible media, can it?

I got this Optorite DD0201 (Sanyo) drive a week ago, updated the firmware to the current version, and have been unable to create a HD-Burn disc at all.

Recommend HD-BURN media for OptoRite DD0201/DD0203 (DVD¡ÓRW)

Thanks. I don't really trust the list that Optorite/Sanyo makes. I've tested some DVD+Rs that are "supposed" to be compatible with the drive and they don't work too well.

It's Sanyo's method for doubling the space on a standard CD-R. Too bad it works on so FEW CD-R brands though. Basically, the pit length is decreased and error correction is changed to a more efficient method. Supposedly any DVD-ROM would be able to read these discs with a firmware update. No one is really supporting this though.

no support for it...

however, my DVD-ROM's even have a hard time reading DVD-R's...
and I just bought a new one recently...
might be the way Nero's burning it...

So it doenst bother me using HD-BURN, save me from having to use DVD-R's for storage.
Just use it on the OptoRite drive, just like I would have to with my DVD-R's anyways...
Btw I bought cheapo DVD-R's thats why, Princo's. at $.70 a piece

overall I guess using HD-Burn does pay off in saving money...
each disc .25, x 3 = .75 for (1.4*3=4.2Gigs) same as a DVD-R...
so instead if the burn fails, I don't lose $.7 at a time, i lose only .25

anyways to the point, HD-Burn gives you the ability to burn 1.4Gigs on a regular CD-R
