which looks better? Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky?

I like both designs, the sky looks sharp and edgy while the solstice has a vintagy look(is that even a word?).

Sky! Only because the front of the Solstice is marred by the HIDEOUS Pontiac grille. What an eyesore on an otherwise gorgeous car. It's a shame Mazda dropped the ball on the new Miata. 🙁 I'm on my 2nd Miata, btw.

Sky

Nobody is better at making the front end of a car look like crap than Pontiac and Mitsubishi.

pontiac by far.

i wouldn't drive a saturn on a dare.

...however...i am all about an import over a gm.

sky because it's based on the elise.

wha???

lotus != gm, lotus has toyota engine in it... wtf

the elise and the VX220 are based on the same platform, and so is the sky.

but yeah i think the sky would be the worst of the bunch. however it's also very cheap.

Those are the same cars...different badges.

i know that one, the vibe is the matrix, but the elise is based on the kappa platform? i never ever knew that. but i knew it had a toyota engine in it.

The Sky is NOT based off a Lotus Elise.

The Sky will be a much larger car, and its Front Engine, RWD. The Elise is Mid-Engined RWD, and much smaller (not to mention, weighs about 900lbs less).

The Sky and the Solstice share the same platform (Kappa Platform), same engine and same transmission. There will practically be no performance difference between the two cars. Lotus has NOTHING to do with the Sky/Solstice.

thats exactly what im thinking. there is no way in hell that super car is related to the kappa platform, else GM would be toting it like nothing else.

Text

was reading that the vauxhall VX220 will be replaced by the sky, and was thinking the current VX220 shares a platform with the elise. sorry.

You just proved my point, as soon as I clicked on the link the 1st thought to pop in my head was (about the black one) "WTH?? Is that a Mitsubishi branded Pontiac Sunfire?" LOL

GM does own vauxhall and opel, which makes the VX220/speedster, which are based on the current lotus elise.
