which LINUX supports laptop built-in modem ?

Hello guys,

I was wondering if anyone here have gotten their Laptop's built-in modem to communicate using Linux.

Please indicate what DISTRO you're using, what settings (modem, modem0, modem1, tty0, ttyS1, .. baud rate, flow control, etc) are u using. And perhaps any additional editing of config files to get it to work.

I just got a Toshiba Satellite M115 - S3094, and is desperately in need to install (or live-cd) any linux that will work with either PPP DIALER or even WVDIAL.

I have tried DamnSmallLinux, Kanotix2006RC4, Knoppix with no luck.

Basically I need this to dial-in to our work server and do RDESKTOP.

Please help !! Thanks !

Not very many distros are going to do what you want.

But you can probably get it to work, you just need to install some drivers.
