Which Linux distro for my thinkpad?

Anyone have experiance with diffrent linux distros for their tihnkpads? I decided to finally get around to dropping linux on my t43. I mostly use it for word processing and web browsing.
 
If you're a noob, Ubuntu is the best to get started if you're not a rocket scientist. All the programs you will ever need comes for free.
 
I'm not foreign to linux, I've worked with older versions of SuSE and Red Hat. I will look into Ubuntu. I've been out of the loop for awhile.
 
I have an R50e and I use Fedroa Core 4 on it and all is A+ good.
Since you have experience already with RedHat I would suggest you use Fedore Core .

However Ubuntu is more recommended for newbies to get started with minimal effort, since you are not a newbie so I would suggest you start with Fedora Core but it's a matter of personal prefrence really.

Slackware 10.2 works well. However, I strongly recommend compiling or using the 2.6 series kernel after installation because the 2.6 branch has much better support for devices (wireless, APS).
