Which Linksys router model to get

I have been eyeing the Linksys WRT54GS with speedbooster model which amazon has it for about $65AR. Currently local Fry's has WRT54G model on sale at $40AR. I know both basically use same hacked firmware but I don't have a speedbooster card except for one in my house, would I benefit anything in getting the WRT54GS which is $25 more thatn the WRT54G or is there a benefit that you recommend in spending an extra $25 for? I wouldn't mind spending extra $25 if it has benefit in, let say, speed, distance, security or whatever.

Thanks in advance for your advices.

Without newer NIC's in your systems, you won't see any different in speed. I personally own the GS model as well and could care less about the speedboost feature. I got it because it has more memory to use with the Sveasoft firmware that is running on it. Of course, the non-GS model has plenty of space as well if you don't plan to modify the firmware or add things to it yourself. Other than that, they're basically the same exact router.

You may wanna check out www.wrt54g.com and www.sveasoft.com as both have more information on the WRT54G* series of routers.

A Speed booster Router with a card will provide about 30 ? 40% improvement in Wireless performance.

Whether it worth $25 or not is a personal choice that depends on what you need this connection for and your wealth.
