I'm looking for a motherboard that can overclock my C2D CPU, i was wondering which one should i get if i'm kinda on a budget.

I heard there were many problems on the DS3, and the gigabyte motherboards, so yeah....

I'm kinda leaning towards the P5N-E sli right now, good price and great reviews.

Anyone got any opinions?

thuganomics,
i have the P5N-E SLI and if you have built a few computers and your not afraid to do some troubleshooting yourself than its a great board!!! your gonna have to setup memory timings right out of the box yourself and a couple other bios options cause the defaults will not boot the board and youll think you have a doa board. they are very sensitive to the type of memory you use, but all 6xx chipset motherboards seem to have that problem. all the 650i motherboards are pretty good overclockers with minimal problems, but less features. if you want more overclocking feature you will need to go 680i, but beware that those 680 chipsets no matter who's building them all have alot of problems so do your research. if you plan on using SLI you might want to jump up to the P5N32E SLI cause it has two 16x pcie lanes unlike the P5N-E SLI which has two 8x pcie lanes in sli. the 6xx chipsets are great fun, i just think, as others do, that this chipset was a little premature on its release and i think vista being released around the same time is what is hampering all these companies from being able to concentrate on this chipset and really fix its issues because their too busy trying to make drivers for vista because Bill is pissed that all these companies are not listening to him and putting out compatible drivers fast enough for his new os!!!!! LOL :) whatever you decide just do your research first!!! if you have any questions about the P5N-E SLI ill be happy to answer them for ya!!

Personally I would say that unless you need SLI or lots of IDE devices that 965P is a better chipset than 650i SLI.

The P5N-E SLI is $135 at newegg & the abit AB9 QuadGT is $140 after rebate.
I've got both & imo the QuadGT is streets ahead (unless you need SLi etc.) & definitely worth the $5 more.
