I was looking around trying to find a few lenses for my sister. I was looking to spend around 200$ per lense. Any good recommendations for a D50? Thanks.

Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor

The best 'reasonably' priced lens for a Nikon. Great all-round and crystal clear. Good luck!

If it's <$300 I recommend this.

It's also a great glass. Pretty nice range too but if you don't mind spending the extra $200 that 24-120 VR is truly spectacular - read up on some reviews on both.

B&H is usually not the cheapest place online so shop around but I'd suggest not buying from Ebay. Good luck!

Thanks alot for the helpful info czech :). I'll make sure to look into the 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Autofocus Lens. Btw, would you recommend that I spend the extra $25 and purchase the one that says "USA"?

For $500+, I'd easily get the 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S VR DX over the 24-120mm. 24mm is just not wide enough with the 1.5x DX crop factor, IMHO. I just pulled the trigger on the 18-200 a few hours ago on eBay ($770 for a factory demo). Here's an identical auction that's ending soon: Text

For ~$300, I would get the 18-70mm AF-S DX. It has a little more telephoto reach than the 18-55mm.

And let's not forget the required lens for all SLRs, 35mm film or APS-C digital: the plastic fantastic 50mm! Text

do you mean 500++? expect to spend $900 for the 18-200vr. it's out of stock everywhere. of course, you can get it on ebay though
