From my researching the past few days the Va1912W seems to be the best choice in the 19" widescreen range. It is liked by most of everyone that bought it. I am thinking about buying it myself. But am trying to save for a 20.1" not sure if I can wait another month and a half to 2 months though.

Take it from someone who has a 19" LCD, you really want to get that 20.1 WS from Viewsonic. :D

Well, if you are going spend more than your intended budget on one piece of hardware, it might as well be the monitor.

A good monitor will last you through a number of computers, and should depreciate in value slower than almost any other piece of hardware.

True that, I was thinking of a hardware upgrade soon. Might as well put the money on a monitor rather than upgrading to the new breed of cards. Gotta check how much I have in my piggy bank :D

I have the VA1912WB, and I have a 20.1" widescreen as well. The VA1912WB is a TN panel. Its fine for normal desktop use and a decent gaming LCD, but it is not very good for watching movies, and doesn't scale too well to non-native resolutions. It is also a 6-bit display (although the colors still look very good). The main thing it has going for it is price - its amazingly inexpensive (at least in the U.S.). The VX2025WM is larger (obviously) but also will have much better viewing angles and better contrast, since its a SPVA panel. It is an 8-bit display as well. It will scale a lot better than the 19" as well (partially due to it using smaller pixels).

In the U.S., at NewEgg, the prices are $205 for the VA1912, and about $329 for the VX2025...
