Which LCD would you buy?

350:1 vs 450:1 Image Contrast Ratio. Is there a big difference?

Basically I'm trying to decide if I should buy this Dell lcd for $489 shipped or this NEC lcd for $425 shipped.

Which would you buy?

Personally, I'd go with the 450:1 NEC...we have a predecessor to that one here at work and they look good, very easy on the eyes...and believe me, workin on it all day I hafta have that easy on the eyes thing!

cheers!

The 1800FP has been highly recommended many times by other AT forum users. I think you missed out on the $489 deal. The $50 coupon was for 07/17 only.

those contrast numbers mean nothing. pcworld did a review where they measured the actual contrast and found the dell had something like 800:1.

in any case. i would go with the dell. i have used one quite often and its great. clear, sharp and bright. you may be able to get it for cheaper if you can wait for a good dell sale and coupon combo.

I'd get the Dell.
It has DVI, and most reviews tend to agree that those 16ms screens don't have the best color.

But I could be biased, I got in on the ~$385 dell 1800fp deal in the spring.
