Which LCD? - Viewsonic VP181b or the Dell 1800FP?

Just took a look at specs for the VP181B. It has a 30ms response time, 350:1 contrast and 250 nits brightness. The VP171B has 16ms response, 500:1 contrast and 260 nits. The two monitors can be had for about the same price (maybe a little more for the 181) but the specs of the VP171B blow away the VP181B and I doubt if you would really notice the extra 1" of real estate.

Thanks for the reply. I have had a 19" CRT. Do you think I will notice much of a difference in size? Also is it true that the colors are much better looking on a lcd.

Thanks!!!

I just replaced my Sony G400 19" crt with the VP171B. I do not notice the difference in size. They both run at 1280x1024. The colors on the LCD do appear more vivid to me. I was worried about ghosting but I have seen none so far. I also was told that LCDs are not the best for photoshop work but I haven't had a problem there either. And, this leaves me a lot of extra desk space. Also, the VP171B had no dead pixels which was something I was worried about.
