Which laptops have 8 bit LCDs?

I´m looking for a laptop and I would like to be able to edit photos on it but then I would need a 8 bit panel. I know that IBM offers their flexview laptops, but they are too expensive for me.

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced laptops with 8 bit panels? I have heard good things about e.g. Fujitsu screens, but I don´t know if they are 8 bit?

The Flexview screen is what's called an IPS screen. Really your only options for that are Lenovo and the V6va by Asus. The new V6j has a core duo but no IPS screen. You can still find the Asus around but it ain't cheap. Unless you're a professional just get a notebook with a nice panel like a Sony or Toshiba. I personally am planning on getting a Lenovo T series with IPS screen.

According to this website IPS only improves the viewing angle but is independent from the color depth?

Regrettably many displays are 6 bit at the moment, but few companies declare it. However here's a hint:

16.2 million colors = 6 bit (actually it's just 262144 colors with mix technology)
16.7 million colors = 8 bit

// Looks like all IPS screens are 8 bit... and nearly inexistent in the notebook world 🙁
