Which laptop would you rather have for the money?

I am going to buy a new laptop and need some advice as to which one I should choose. Note that there is a 200 dollar difference between the two.

LAPTOP 1

Laptop 2

THank you for your advice

You have to decide what it is you want to do. Plenty of people would do just fine with a 486, others want to play graphics intensive games, plenty someplace in the middle.

Plain old how easy is it to type on is still my MAIN test.

Not necessarily should you go for Media Center. If you are going to use it primarily as a portable desktop, and you are into games and other such stuff - go for the extra $200. But - if you are like me, and you laptop is strictly for travel - go with the smaller screen and size. When you travel, you are not likely to be hauling around the speakers and other paraphernalia that makes for good Media Center usage.

well if you look at the specs, laptop 1 is about 1 lb heavier. Honestly 1lb isnt very much expecially if your going to be putting it on your back.

Laptop 1 is on the core duo processor. Its newer in technology hence if you can afford it, id stick with core duo. This is a yonah processor.

Laptop 2 will do the basics without any problem. 1.6ghz dothan is about as fast as a 1.8ghz AMD64. Theres plenty of threads on bench marks about this with yonah, since yonah is technically 2 dolthans put together.

As for battery life, i heard the core duo's have a better battery life then the dolthans. But its not by very much, aprox. 15-20 more min of run time.

Get laptop 1 if you can afford it, as someone stated above me, you should always get the one u can most afford.
