Dell 8500's have a $200 rebate :>, i configured one to $1000 after 15% + 15% + $200 rebate...original price was 1700. But I think this was yesterday when there was that 15% off any notebook over $1499.

Not sure if it would work with the wireless connection (don't know if they use the same connection) but if I had to get a laptop right now I would probably get a Powerbook. Have you ever owned a laptop, though? If at all possible I would advice you to get a desktop unless you really do need the portability. I know I got an Inspiron and it never once left my desk. The Dell laptops are nice though, if you have to have windows. 🙂

I've taken my iBook to plenty of differnt places with wireless access and it's always worked just fine.

Ok, I just didn't know if Apple's would be compatible. I guess they are. 🙂
