Hi

My budget for laptop is 40-45K. I use laptop mostly for Multimedia development (Photoshop, Premier, After Effects and 3D Compositions) apart from web browsing and simulation softwares (MatLab and Labview)

I've shortlisted two laptops

Samsung Series 3
3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 1TB/ Win7 HP/ 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7670M

HP Pavilion
APU Quad Core A10/ 6GB/ 1TB/ DOS/ 2.5GB AMD Radeon HD 7670M

I've read lots of reviews about AMD Trinity (A10) and then shortlisted the above two Though both are good for multimedia (infact HP is much better than Samsung for 3D graphics and multimedia). What concerns me is the performance of softwares like Matlab and Labview on HP.

Matlab and Labview and single threaded process and I've read that A10 performance is not good for single threaded process. Is it true ??

Which laptop to choose from the above two that best suits my needs ??

Are there any other laptops that I'm missing which fall into my price range. If so pls let me know.

Thanks

Core i5, easily. It's going to be faster in terms of raw CPU performance and comes with Windows. A 2.5 GHz Ivy Bridge beats a 2.3 GHz A10 any day of the week.
