Though I know a bit about tech I haven't ever needed to know anything about mobile systems until now. I need a laptop for school, both for note-taking and because the computer labs on campus are always full.
I need good to great battery life. I'm hoping I can find something that will last at least 3-4 hours (heck 6 hours would rock, but I just don't know that much about it).
I prefer somewhat larger screens and keypads, but if that kills battery life then never mind.
I'll need wifi capability so I can do research while on campus.
I would prefer something with a cd/dvd combo.
A lot of what I do has some multimedia aspects, so it will need to be able to play and edit sound and video.
I don't care about software, because I always reformat my systems anyway and set them up the way I want. (then again, I've never tried this on a laptop, any problems with it?)
Should carry a good warranty as I'm pretty tough to my stuff on the go.
That's about it I guess. I'll pay attention to price, but I'm not limited by it. If it can play some games for an occassional distraction, great, if not, fine.
