Which laptop should I go for?

Hi,
This is my first post.
I am planning to buy a new laptop from ebay. I can't make up my mind over two models.

Both are ASUS, one is ASUS R501VM N56VM Core i7 3610QM 8GB 750GB 2Gb GT630M and it has a higher resolution of 1920x1080.

The other one is ASUS R505CB S505CM K505CM i7 3537U 8G 750G 24G SSD GT740M. This model has a resolution of 1366x768.

The price difference is not that big, a margin of $45. Which one should I go for?

Before I posted my thread here, I googled some information about the screen resolution. The thing is I wear glasses...
Does that mean the higher resolution is not good for me because of smaller font? Can I adjust the font? Do these two resolutions matter very much?

Also, how different are they between these two CPUs as well as graphic cards ?
Thanks!

What will you be using the laptop for? Gaming? General use? I wear glasses and 1080p does not bother me at all.

I will be using the laptop for study and watch movies. Gaming is also important, but not that craze. I like PES2013 and FIFA and tatical strategy games.

It's really good to know short-sighted does not bother too much.

You should also look at their other merits, such as the 1080p model having a quad core i7 vs the dual in the second model, while the second has an SSD for the OS while the 1080p one doesn't. I'd personally go for the higher quality 1080p display as you can always play games at lower resolutions.

Do these two CPUs matter very considerably? I was told the 1080p needs a good vision because of higher pixels.
How about graphic cards between these two?

Moving to Notebooks section, you should be able to get better help there.

I'd go with the 1080p Model myself.

I also own a Dell Latitude E4310 which is a nice small notebook, but 1366x768 sucks.

Depends on the game.

The i7-3610QM is on par with a Desktop stock 2500k/3570k CPU's. It's amazing how much power the Quad core mobile i7's pack.

To me the CPU + 1080p screen make that one more attractive.

I am older, and my vision is only fair, and I wear glasses of course. I have a 1080p laptop, and have no problem reading the screen. Obviously a 23 inch or so desktop LCD is easier to read, but for any kind of productivity work a 1080p laptop screen is the way to go.

The fonts on the 1080p display can be adjusted to what ever size you comfortable with. The 1080p has a quad core and the one has a dual core but with a better video card and 24gb ssd for the OS. it should be boot faster.
The quadcore is 45watts and the dual core is 17watts. so the dual core is more batteries friendly and the quadcore is more powerful. I would go for the quadcore for the cpu power and the 1080p display. but if you travel alot then the dual core ultrabook should be your choice.

Cheers.
