Which laptop should I get

If you had a choice which laptop would you get?

Toshiba - 2.8 Ghz P4 518 with Hyperthreading, only 256 RAM (would have to be upgraded), and a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7000 IGP

HP - 2.8 P4, 512 RAM, ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP

Sony - 2.8 P4, 512 RAM, 32mb NVidia GeForce4 420 Go

All are similar price (within $50 of each other) I need a laptop for my wife to use just for internet and one that I could use for alittle gaming.

I like the Hyperthreading on the Toshiba but I think the RAM and video card are alittle lacking

bah...hyper threading doesnt give much performance boost anyway, the sony will be best for light gaming, the two IGP chipsets from ATI will slice themselves a chunk of your system ram to use as their own video memory

i suspect the sony with the geforce in it, wil have its own memory even if its only 32mb, its not taking anything from your system, nor is consuming memory bandwidth.

id reccomend the sony

yup your right I went back through the specs and it is shared memory for the ATI's

The Sony is also only a TFT display and not an XGA
