I've got $1400, I want something with a Centrino in it... I don't really know much about laptops, what would ya'll suggest for my budget?

What is the right forum? I kinda had the same question, and was browsing through to find the answer, but there were only two pages of topics in this forum....is it new or something?

Don't artificially limit yourself to a "Centrino". And realize that "Centrino" isn't a processor, it's just a system with a Pentium-M, a particular chipset, and Intel's brand of 802.11b.

I got a Sharp Actius discontinued at Fry's for $1199. It has cdrw/dvd, 256MB memory, Centrino 1.13, and 40GB hard disk. Great buy for the money, especially since it's very portable. If you are looking for more power, I would suggest an IBM if you can afford one.

Sorry Wyvrn, that's a pentium 3 M. Not a centrino. But it's still a good laptop.
