I'm a college student. Main concern is mobility and basically web browsing, occasional dvd and mp3 listening and word processing. Right now I'm leaning towards the S2010 cause of the price difference, but if anyone can recommend a different model it would be appreciated.

For $1300 after rebate, you could have a wonderful computer in the emachines Athlon 64 notebook. Also, I would consider a Dell Inspiron 600m or Dell Lattitude d600, as you should also be able to get good bang for the buck. I also believe HP is offering compaq and HP notebooks with $100 rebate and 10% off. If I had to choose between the three you put forth, I would have to go with the t40 (though you could find a t41 for around the same price with a better processor).

I am also in college, and I just bought a Dell Latitude D600. Its a little pricey, which I got pretty well loaded for $2200. The Dell Inspiron 600m is nice and close to the D600, but not as sturdy as the Latitude notebooks. As for the HP/Compaq, they are decent notebooks, but have had problems in the past. IBM also has some nice machines, but they aren't the cheapest.

You didn't list game-playing as one of your activities. May I suggest the dell latitude d500? It's cheap, it's sturdy, and it has long battery life. It's heavier than the 3 laptops you listed though @ ~5lbs (less if you replace the optical drive with a weight saver).
