Which Laptop/Processor has better battery life

So i am thinking of buying a budget laptop ( auround 730 shipped) for general use (websurfing, light photoshoping, online games, maybe some old games like (driver and f-22 hopefully). Well i was looking on tiger direct there some nice deals there and i dont have to pay any tax but i have a few questions:
1. Which has better a battery life (i am usally close to an outlet but sometimes i go on trips or long car rides) HP Compaq EVO N610c $589 or Gateway 6010GZ $589.99 or Acer Aspire 3002LCi Mobile $649.99
2. Also which is faster the P4-M (non centrino) 1.8ghz or Celeron M 1.4ghz or the Sempron 2800+ 1.6ghz
3. And out of those which do you think is the best deal overall (battery life/speed/features)

Also if you can find a better for cheaper tell me.
Thanks

I think the 6010GZ is the best deal of all those laptops. The 3002LCi doesn't have enough RAM, and the N610c has a P4-M (ick!). Remember that a P4-M is _not_ the same as a P-M.

I wouldn't expect the world in terms of battery life from any of them, though. Tiger doesn't seem to list battery size, and that alone is a huge consideration for total power.

Recently, I bought an HP zv6000 for $700 AMIR (shipped!) from Office Depot. A64 3200+, 512mb RAM, 12 cell battery, 128mb dedicated video, Bluetooth, 802.11g, XP Pro, etc. Much better deal than any of the ones you listed. I think there's a link to it in my sig, if you'd like to check it out - I haven't done any upgrades to it yet. Office Depot seems to rotate sales, so it should come back up soonish.

The only one of that group I can vouch for is the EVO. And I can only comment that the build quality is very solid, we have a few in our lab and they seem to hold up very well.

Better battery life... First, you need the bigger battery... For instance, if buying a Dell, they come with some lousy battery but you can "upgrade" to a better one for about $100 more. That "upgrade" adds 50-100% more run time depending on model.

Jury is still out on the Turion chips, but until then the best battery life comes from the Pentium M chips using an Intel 915GM chipset with integrated video and DDR2 RAM.

There are also slower, "ULV" chips, but though those use less power I think the subnotebooks built around them use smaller batteries (to fit the form factor) thus you don't really get more battery life.

2. Also which is faster the P4-M (non centrino) 1.8ghz or Celeron M 1.4ghz or the Sempron 2800+ 1.6ghz I would say the P4-M & Sempron will be close, with the P4-M winning out probably.
3. And out of those which do you think is the best deal overall (battery life/speed/features) I think the Acer or the Gateway. The Acer needs more RAM (cheap) and a bigger/faster HDD couldn't hurt. You need to find out battery capacities between the Gateway and Acer to make a truly informed decision.

Thank you all for your wonderful responses 🙂. I was thinking about going for the Acer untill i found out it only has a 4 cell battery (not worth it to upgrade the batter). So i was looking auround and found something else that I like and resonably priced the HP nx6110 it has more features but only has a 6 cell battery (decent). Also i know the memory is not enough but i can upgrade that later. (hell my dad runs xp pro on my old compaq deskpro 733mhz with 128mb 😉)
Thanks Again
