I am looking to buy a laptop for college that also has good gaming abilities........

I am looking at the Sony Vaio VGN-S360 Sony Vaio

and a Sony Vaio VGN-FS570 Sony Vaio

The S360 has a Radeon 9700 with 64mb and the FS570 has a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with 128MB shared dynamic video memory

1. Could either of these play the top of the line games today........?

2. Which one is better for gaming......?

If both of these are bad......should I get an Acer Ferrari 3400LMi ....

which should i pick...

In general any graphics that have the name "Intel" in them suck. The GMA900 is the best so far of Intel graphics, no doubt, but still falls way behind any current discrete video solutions. The Radeon 9700 will work well in most games today, as long as you don't mind lowering the resolution.
The Dell 9300 is a gaming powerhouse, but what these fellows don't realize is that you are looking at two relatively portable models, which the Dell is not. If you want a laptop that will sit at your desk 24/7 and not be portable, the 9300 is the way to go.
Otherwise, what you've chosen isn't a horrible choice. Are you looking for portable or a DTR?
