Which Laptop CPU is Better? T4400 or T5750?

I'm looking to get my wife a new laptop from the Dell Outlet. I have a couple machines I am looking at, but I am not sure which processor is better?

I'd initially think the T4400 GHz chip is faster than the T5750, but the cache is higher on the T5750. Is one better than the other and why? Thanks!

Higher number is always better. Im sure its clocked higher thus giving your laptop more speed.

I think either way you shouldn't see a difference doing daily tasks, but don't plan on rendering or gaming on either. gl

I would go with the T4400. It is a 45nm chip, has a faster clock speed, faster FSB. The faster FSB and clock speed will easily make up for the missing 1MB of L2. It really is just a relabeled C2D chip.

Thanks for the feedback. I had also thought that Core 2 Duo processors were faster/better than Dual Core processors...perhaps that isn't completely true?

I have a friend who has the T5750 for work mostly, plays games smooth at native res He does rendering etc... Its a pretty smooth laptop. Id recommend it after seeing his.

Wanna go lower model, do so if budget is a problem,, gl

Not true. E6300 vs. E5200 - which is faster?

I would go with the T4400. Even though it has less L2 Cache, it has a 200 MHz clock speed advantage, and it's built on a newer process. Even though they're rated at the same TDP, I'd expect the T4400 to draw less power overall, giving better battery life.

id go for the 4400. i have a laptop with the 4300 and it is definitely faster than my laptop with the 5550 (?) which is a few years old,
