Which laptop can survive high altitude trekking?

I'm planning to do some trekking for one month on constant altitude of 10,000-15,000 ft.

Temperature vary from 10-20 farenheit. I need something that's durable and good battery life.

Any suggestion? I heard IBM X series can boot on very high altitude, Panasonic Toughbook seems good too, but I'm not sure if it can boot there.

Also I don't want something that will break the bank.

There is very little that about high altitude that can affect a laptop. The only consideration is high voltage arc over and there is no high voltage present in a laptop. Buy what you like and enjoy. At cruising altitude in an airliner the cabin altitude is at 7-10,000 and I don't see laptops failing right and left.

Air cabin is pressurized with constant temperature, I know IBM has to modify their laptop for people who climb Everest, otherwise it will not be bootable.

What we do here in Alaska with sensitive equipment is keep it at one temperature, either warm or cold. It's the transition from cold to warm that causes frost to form and causes trouble. Select equipment that has easily removable hard drives and batteries and keep them in an inside pocket. Keep the rest of it outside all the time or at least sealed up in a big ZipLoc bag until you can get if fully warmed up. Install the battery and hard drive just prior to user and you should be okay. Any laptop or any other device is going to turn to an ice cube if it is left outside to cold soak and is brought in where it is warm. An example is firearms. Come fall the weapon is throughly degreased to prevent frozen lubrication causing a malfunction. From then on the weapon is left outside in a cloth bag until spring.

Air cabin pressure is not pressurized to sea level pressures. It is maintained at a pressure equal to 6000-8000 feet.
