I need an opinion on which to buy...

This lappy will be used for VM's, Compiling C++, photoshop, and basic gaming (Unreal Original, Starcraft, possibly more). It will have one of OSX, Vista, or WINXP Pro the day i get it home...

I have a choice of 2:

Acer Aspire 5672WLMi-120GB-XPH

Intel Core Duo T2300 (2x1.66Ghz, 2MB cache, 667FSB)
2GB (1GB/1GB) DDR2 SDRam (667)
120GB SEAGATE 5400RPM SATA with NCQ
Integrated variable-speed Super-Multi drive (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM)
5-in-1 Card reader
15.4" WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT display
Acer® CrystalBrite Technology
ATI® MOBILITY? RADEON® X1400 graphics, 128MB DDR
802.11a/b/g WLAN, Bluetooth?
Gigabit LAN, V.92 modem
Acer® Video Conference (Built in Camera and microphone)

Will cost me $1679CND + Tax

The second one I will buy straight up and upgrade the ram on it:

ACER TravelMate 4202WLMi-80-XPH
Intel Core Duo T2300 (2x1.66Ghz, 2MB cache, 667FSB)
512MB (256/256) DDR2 SDRAM (667)
80GB SEAGATE 5400RPM SATA with NCQ
Integrated variable-speed DVD-Dual drive (DVD+/-RW)
15.4" WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT display
Acer® CrystalBrite Technology
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
802.11a/b/g WLAN
Gigabit LAN, V.92 modem

Cost of Laptop: $1174CND + Tax

2 x 1GB Kingston = 2 x 160 = $320

Total for machine = $1494CND + Tax

So the question is, is it worth $180 for 40GB more space, Bluetooth, built in webcam, and a X1400 with Avivo. As well as having an aspire instead of a travelmate?

lol is that even a question to ask? your getting a dedicated video card, bluetooth, and 40gigs extra for only 180. So u want to add the numbers now

Dedicated video card = if u intend on playing games. PRICELESS!!! well, its a must
40gig HD = 75 dollars
bluetooth = 25-30 dollars
video web cam to make a fool of yourself faster = PRICELESS?? nah.. 45 dollars

so without adding the videocard yet, the total is roughly 145-150 dollars.
now drop in the 128meg x1400, i would estimate this to be at around 115-120 making that a total of 265-270 dollars in stuff that you get with the first package.

Need i say more?

ACK forgot to mention my price estimates are in US dollars.

looking directly at hardware, they seem pretty much identical. Personally if u have the budget, the first should only be concidered. U might however find a dell 9400 with coupons for roughly the same price and get a 7800GT GO which would be a better system.
