I'm going to be returning to college at the beginning of 2004. A laptop is a requirement for the course I will be doing, and I'm just wondering what the best laptops I can get are in terms of price:stability & performance. I was considering something AMD based to lower the price, but the people I can get laptops from wholesale basically sell Acer, HP, Fujitsu, and Toshiba. If anyone knows of a place in Canada that can offer me a great deal on a laptop, please pass any such info along. I'm looking for something that can compete with a P4M 2.4GHz/512MBDDR/30GBHDD/15"/NIC + wireless/DVD-CDRW combo drive. I don't really intend on gaming on this laptop, so I don't care about the capabilities of the video. The system I'm looking at (a Fujitsu Lifebook) runs about $1800 CAD before taxes.
Basically, anyone know of a good deal (after exchange/taxes) that can get me an equivalent system for around the same price?
