Which KT266a boards have you pre-ordered? Where and Price?

I'm eagerly waiting to get a kt266a board for my very first PC. I was just wondering what boards (Asus, Shuttle, MSI, etc.) all of you guys are getting and from what store and at what price. And hopefully this could help out some people that are looking for some info on the kt266a boards (esp. me =) ). Thanks.

(MODS- I hope this is alright for this forum?)

Don't know about the Epox, even though the reviews seem to be good, but the MSI looks sweet. No fan on Northbirdge though... just got a blue orb in case I don't hear any news on the nForce. I'm pulling the trigger, want to finish my new rig and sell my old one.

Also looks like the MSI boards have integrated ethernet... nice. Don't need Raid or USB 2.0... the cheaper one without Raid and USB2.0 is $118, with is $142. Can't justify those features if I'm not going to use them.

I went for the Shuttle AK31 V3.1 from AxionTech. The V2 of this board has a good reputation and for $94, it's hard to beat for value. It has all the overclocking things you might need in BIOS & none of the "frills" you don't. They expect it to ship next week.

LOl Jimbob how can you say the board has a good reputation? 1) Shuttle has a pretty lousy reputation as a mobo manuf 2) No one has reviewed this board yet. Only MSI and Epox pre-production boards have been reviewed (in addition to the ref boards that were sent out a few weeks ago).

shuttle's rev1 was an absolute disaster. I'm grabbing the epox board right now, MSI makes some really bad boards. They have rushed out a lot, and tend to have many problems later on, so epox is the way. I want the 170Mhz FSB too 🙂

I no longer overclock my chips, so I just need a board to run a new 1.4 T-Bird and a few sticks of pc2100 🙂 ...I'm looking at the MSI for ~$114.00...

helpless, get the Epox 8kha+ w/ kt266a chip.... just came out @ newegg.com .... its only $116 and it's the sweetest motherboard

Note that he said Rev 2 not Rev 3.. I've got the Rev 2 now & I couldn't be more pleased.. with that I just ordered a rev 3.1 from newegg 🙂

anyone know if axiontech ships to canada? Newegg won't, and other sites don't have anything on them.

for the record the mobo i reviwed was a retail version not pre-production ,all accessories and bundles were included and the board is available in the UK next week at aprox £100 INC VAT.

ive now used both SIS 735 and KT266A boards and well call it bias or not the results from the 8KHA+ tells it all .
ive also got the Shuttle AK31 KT266A up next few days ,if there original AK31 was anything go by the competiveness will be interesting.
